Suzuki Navigation SD Card Guide: Bosch and TomTom-Based Systems

Suzuki Factory Navigation

Suzuki’s factory navigation systems are fitted to higher-specification models and are based on hardware supplied by Bosch or, in some markets, TomTom-integrated units. Navigation uses an SD card for map storage across the range of Suzuki models that offered it.

Which Suzuki Models Have SD Card Navigation?

  • Suzuki Vitara (from 2015) — navigation available on SZ5 and GLX grades
  • Suzuki S-Cross (from 2013) — navigation on higher specification grades
  • Suzuki Swift Sport (Mk4, 2017 onwards)
  • Suzuki Baleno (selected specifications)
  • Suzuki Ignis (selected specifications)

Navigation was typically a grade-level feature rather than a standalone factory option — so it’s linked to trim level rather than being addable to any model.

Identifying Your Suzuki Navigation System

Most Suzuki navigation systems have a branded Bosch interface. To check your system version and current map version, navigate to: Menu → Settings → System → Version Information. This will show the map version currently installed and the software version of the head unit.

SD Card Slot Location in Suzuki Models

The SD card slot location varies by model:

  • Vitara: SD card slot on the front face of the infotainment unit, typically at the lower edge
  • S-Cross: SD card slot on the head unit or in the glovebox depending on the generation
  • Swift Sport: SD card slot on the lower section of the infotainment unit

If you’re unsure of the exact location, your Suzuki owner’s manual will show the slot position with a labelled diagram.

Installing a Suzuki Navigation Map Update

  • Start the engine or switch to accessory mode
  • Insert the new navigation SD card into the slot
  • The system will detect the new card and prompt you to begin the update
  • Select to begin and keep the ignition on — the process takes 15–35 minutes
  • The system will restart when the update is complete
  • Keep the card inserted after update as the navigation reads from it during use

Suzuki and Shared Platforms

Some Suzuki models are built on shared platforms. The Suzuki Vitara and S-Cross share a platform with the Fiat Sedici and some Maruti Suzuki models, though the navigation system fitted to UK-market Suzukis is the Bosch-sourced unit rather than the Fiat Uconnect system. Always verify the map card is compatible with your specific head unit before ordering.
