Honda Factory Navigation
Honda has offered factory navigation across its UK range for over a decade. The navigation platform has changed over time — earlier models used an integrated TomTom or Garmin-derived system, while newer models use the Honda Connect platform. Both types use SD cards for map storage.
Garmin Link Navigation (2012–2018)
Honda partnered with Garmin for factory navigation in models from around 2012, creating the “Garmin Link” system. This appears as a dedicated navigation application within the Honda infotainment system, with the Garmin interface and voice guidance. Map updates use a specific Honda Garmin Link SD card.
Models with Garmin Link navigation include:
- Honda CR-V (Mk4, 2012–2017)
- Honda Civic (Mk9, 2012–2016)
- Honda Jazz (Mk3, 2015–2019)
- Honda HR-V (Mk2, 2015–2021)
- Honda Accord (2012–2015)
Honda Connect Navigation (2018+)
Newer Honda models use the Honda Connect system with an updated interface. Honda Connect also uses an SD card for map storage, though the card format is different from Garmin Link cards. Models with Honda Connect include the CR-V (Mk5), Civic (Mk10), HR-V (Mk3) and Jazz (Mk4).
Finding the SD Card Slot
On most Honda models, the SD card slot is located on the front face of the head unit, typically behind a small hinged flap on the lower portion of the unit. On some models, it may be in the glovebox. Check your Honda handbook for the exact location in your model.
Checking Your Map Version
