Honda Factory Navigation Systems
Honda vehicles sold in the UK with built-in navigation use a HERE-based mapping system. Most Honda models from 2013 to 2022 with factory navigation store map data on an SD card slot. The system is branded as part of Honda’s Connect infotainment platform and is available on mid and higher trim levels across the range.
Honda Models With Navigation SD Cards
- CR-V (2012–2022, 4th and 5th generation) — navigation on EX and EX-L trim levels
- HR-V (2015–2022) — navigation on EX and above
- Civic (2017–2022, 10th generation) — navigation on SR Nav, EX and Prestige trims
- Jazz (2015–2022, 3rd and 4th generation) — navigation on EX trim
- CR-V Hybrid (2019–2022) — navigation with SD card on EX and above
- e:HEV models (2021–2022) — check whether your specific variant uses SD or connected maps
Where Is the SD Card Slot?
On most Honda models with Connect navigation, the SD card slot is on the face of the infotainment head unit — typically a small slot below or to the side of the screen. The card is standard SD size. On some models the slot is accessed in the centre console cubby.
Checking Your Map Version
Press the Home or Menu button, then navigate to Settings → System → About or Version Information. The map version displayed will include a year reference — anything 2022 or earlier is worth updating to access current road and speed limit data.
Installation Steps
- Start the engine
- Eject the existing SD card from the head unit slot
- Insert the new update card until it clicks
- Confirm the installation prompt on the Honda Connect screen
- Allow 25–45 minutes for the update to complete
- Leave the card inserted permanently after installation
