Vauxhall and Opel Navigation SD Card Guide: Astra, Corsa, Insignia and More

Vauxhall and Opel Navigation Systems

Vauxhall in the UK and Opel in mainland Europe are the same brand — part of the Stellantis group — and share identical vehicles and navigation platforms. Most Vauxhall and Opel models with built-in navigation from 2015 onwards use the Navi 80 IntelliLink or AGN 100 system, both of which store map data on an SD card.

Which Models Use Navigation SD Cards?

  • Astra (2015–2022, K and L generations) — Navi 80 IntelliLink or AGN 100 on SRi Nav and above
  • Corsa (2015–2022, E and F generations) — Navigation on SE Nav, SRi Nav, and GS Line Nav trims
  • Insignia Grand Sport / Sports Tourer (2017–2022) — Navi 900 IntelliLink on Elite Nav and above
  • Mokka / Mokka X (2012–2021) — Navigation SD card on higher trim levels
  • Crossland / Crossland X (2017–2022) — Navigation on SE Nav and above
  • Grandland / Grandland X (2017–2022) — Navi 80 IntelliLink or AGN 100
  • Zafira Tourer (2011–2019) — Navigation on Elite Nav trim

Where Is the SD Card Slot?

On Vauxhall models with IntelliLink navigation, the SD card slot is typically on the face of the infotainment head unit — a small slot below or beside the screen. On some Insignia models, it may be in the centre console storage area. The card is standard SD size.

What’s Included in a Map Update

  • Updated HERE UK and European road network
  • Revised speed limits including new 20mph zones across UK towns and cities
  • Fixed speed camera positions on UK roads
  • Updated motorway services, EV charging locations, and fuel station data
  • New postcode and address data for recently built properties

Installation Process

  • Start the engine
  • Locate the SD card slot on the head unit
  • Eject the existing card and insert the new update card
  • Accept the installation prompt on screen
  • Allow 20–40 minutes with the engine running
  • Leave the card inserted after the update — it stores the maps permanently

Vauxhall vs Opel Cards

Since Vauxhall and Opel vehicles are mechanically identical, navigation SD cards for both brands use the same underlying HERE map data. However, cards are often packaged separately with brand-specific labelling. A card sold for Opel will generally work in the equivalent Vauxhall model (and vice versa) if the navigation system version is the same — but to be safe, always purchase a card that specifically lists your brand and model.
