Vauxhall & Opel Navigation SD Card Guide: Navi 600, Navi 900 and IntelliLink

Vauxhall Navigation Systems: A Quick Overview

Vauxhall (sold as Opel outside the UK) has used several different SD card-based navigation systems across its model range. The two most common are the Navi 600 and Navi 900, with the more recent IntelliLink system also using SD card navigation in some configurations.

Getting the right card is essential — Navi 600 and Navi 900 cards are not interchangeable, and using the wrong one will result in a “Not compatible” error.

Vauxhall Navi 600

The Navi 600 is Vauxhall’s entry-level navigation system, featuring a 7″ touchscreen and a standard SD card for map storage. The card slot is typically located on the face of the head unit.

Compatible models:

  • Vauxhall Astra (J, K models with Navi 600)
  • Vauxhall Corsa D and E (with navigation)
  • Vauxhall Mokka and Mokka X
  • Vauxhall Crossland X, Grandland X (early)
  • Vauxhall Zafira B and C
  • Vauxhall Meriva B

Navi 600 cards are available for Western Europe, Eastern Europe, or full Europe depending on your requirements.

Vauxhall Navi 900

The Navi 900 is the premium navigation option, offering a higher-resolution display, faster routing, and a larger POI database. It uses a different SD card format to the Navi 600 and has a more refined interface.

Compatible models:

  • Vauxhall Insignia B (2017–2022)
  • Vauxhall Astra K (top-spec, 2015–2021)
  • Vauxhall Crossland X and Grandland X (higher trims)
  • Vauxhall Mokka X (top-spec)

The Navi 900 supports European-wide maps on a single SD card, with speed camera data and lane guidance included.

How to Tell Navi 600 and Navi 900 Apart

  • Check your existing SD card — it will be labelled Navi 600 or Navi 900
  • Go to Settings → Navigation → System Info on your head unit
  • The Navi 900 has a noticeably sharper display and faster interface
  • Check your vehicle’s specification sheet — models with Navi 900 are typically described as having “Premium Navigation”

What’s New in the Latest Vauxhall Map Update?

  • Updated UK road network including new bypasses and motorway extensions
  • Revised speed camera and safety camera data
  • Updated 20mph zone coverage across major UK cities
  • New EV charging point locations
  • Refreshed POI database — petrol stations, hospitals, supermarkets

Installing Your Vauxhall Navigation SD Card

  1. Turn off the engine and locate the SD card slot — typically on the front face of the infotainment unit
  2. Press and release the existing SD card to eject it
  3. Insert the new navigation SD card firmly until it clicks
  4. Switch on the ignition — the system will detect the new card automatically
  5. Maps load on first boot (2–5 minutes) and are ready to use immediately

Opel Compatibility

Vauxhall and Opel are the same brand sold under different names in different markets. All Vauxhall navigation SD cards are fully compatible with the equivalent Opel model with the same navigation system. If you drive an Opel Astra, Corsa, Insignia or Mokka, the same Navi 600 or Navi 900 card applies.
