Toyota and Lexus Navigation Systems
Toyota and Lexus vehicles use closely related navigation platforms. The main system used in UK models from 2012 to 2022 is Toyota Touch 2 with Go, and its Lexus equivalent Lexus Navigation — both of which use an SD card slot for map storage.
Toyota Models That Use a Navigation SD Card
- Auris (2012–2019) — Touch 2 with Go, SD card in the dash unit
- Prius (2012–2022) — Touch 2 with Go, SD card slot
- RAV4 (2013–2019) — Touch 2 with Go
- Yaris (2014–2020) — Touch 2 with Go on higher trim levels

Where Is the SD Card Slot?
On Toyota models with Touch 2 with Go, the navigation SD card slot is typically on the face of the infotainment head unit — you’ll see a small slot below or beside the screen. On some Lexus models, the slot is in the centre console storage area.
How to Check Your Current Map Version
Navigate to: Menu → Settings → General → Version information. This shows the currently installed map version in a format like “2021 Q4”. Compare this to the current available update to see how out of date your maps are.
Toyota SD Card Update Process
- Ensure the car is running or in accessory mode
- Locate the SD card slot on the head unit face
- Press the existing card in to eject it, insert the new card until it clicks
- The screen will prompt for map installation confirmation — confirm
- Update takes 30–60 minutes; the card stays inserted after completion
