Jaguar Navigation SD Card Guide: InControl Touch and InControl Touch Pro

Jaguar InControl Navigation

Jaguar and Land Rover are sister brands under the same parent company and share their InControl infotainment and navigation platform. The navigation update process for a Jaguar XF is virtually identical to that of a Range Rover Sport from the same period — and in many cases, the same SD card covers both brands.

InControl Touch (2013–2016)

The first-generation InControl Touch was introduced across the Jaguar XF (X260), XJ (X351 facelift) and F-Type. It features an 8-inch touchscreen and uses an SD card for navigation map storage. The SD card slot is in the centre console storage area.

InControl Touch Pro (2016+)

InControl Touch Pro introduced a larger 10-inch screen with improved performance. It was rolled out across:

  • Jaguar XE (X760, from 2015)
  • Jaguar XF (X260, from 2015)
  • Jaguar XJ (X351 late, from 2016)
  • Jaguar F-Pace (from 2016)
  • Jaguar E-Pace (from 2017)
  • Jaguar I-Pace (from 2018)

InControl Touch Pro uses a different SD card format to the earlier InControl Touch — the two are not interchangeable. Always confirm which system your Jaguar has before ordering a map card.

I-Pace: Plugin Recommendation

The Jaguar I-Pace electric vehicle uses InControl Touch Pro and accepts the same navigation SD card. When updating maps, plug the vehicle into the mains rather than running solely on battery charge to ensure sufficient power throughout the update.

How to Identify Your System Version

From the InControl home screen: Settings → About → Software Information. The system version and current map version are shown here.

Installing the Navigation Map Update

  • Start the engine (or plug in the I-Pace)
  • Insert the SD card into the navigation slot in the centre console
  • InControl displays an update notification — tap to begin
  • Keep the engine running throughout (30–60 minutes)
  • The screen restarts when complete; leave the card inserted for ongoing use
