Subaru Navigation SD Card Guide: Forester, Outback, XV and Impreza

Subaru Factory Navigation Systems

Subaru vehicles sold in the UK with factory navigation use a HERE-based mapping system. Most Subaru models from 2013 to 2022 with built-in navigation store map data on an SD card, accessible through a slot on or near the infotainment head unit. The navigation system is available on SE Premium and Sport trim levels across the range.

Which Subaru Models Use a Navigation SD Card?

  • Forester (2013–2022, SJ and SK generations) — navigation on SE Premium and Sport trims
  • Outback (2014–2022, BS and BT generations) — navigation on SE Premium and SE Lux trims
  • XV (2012–2022) — navigation on SE Premium and SE Lux trims
  • Impreza (2017–2022) — navigation on SE Premium trim
  • Legacy (2014–2019) — navigation on SE Premium trim
  • Levorg (2015–2021) — navigation on GT and GT-S trims

Where Is the SD Card Slot?

On most Subaru models, the navigation SD card slot is on the face of the infotainment head unit — a small slot typically below or beside the screen. The card is standard SD size. Some Outback models have the slot in the centre console storage area.
